CHESTER -- A propane truck that slid off a driveway caused some scary moments Monday on Woodridge Road.

No one was hurt when the truck, owned by Paraco Gas of Warrensburg, hit an icy patch and slid off a driveway, officials said.

A valve underneath the truck broke, causing a small leak until Chestertown firefighters were able to shut it off. About 20 gallons of propane had to be drained from an area between two valves before the truck could be removed by a tow truck, Chestertown Assistant Fire Chief Ralph Bartlett said.

The Warren County Sheriff's Office investigated the accident. The driver, Robert A. Gillette, 51, of Johnsburg was not hurt and no tickets were issued.
