QUEENSBURY -- A Fort Ann woman was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated Wednesday afternoon after she drove into a medical center building, police said.

Joanne M. Sharp, 45, was arrested shortly after she struck the building at Convenient Medical Care on Bay Road around 3:30 p.m. Wednesday.

No injuries or major damage were reported.

State Police responded and determined Sharp was intoxicated, and a breath test found her blood alcohol content to be 0.18 percent, more than double the 0.08 percent threshold for intoxication.

Sharp was charged with aggravated DWI, a misdemeanor. Her bail status was not available.

Key; substance abusers go where the prescribers are. Read between the lines.

0.18 BAC in the middle of the afternoon: this is an indication of an alcohol problem. A high level of intoxication such as this is not normal. Also, the authorities need to patrol this parking lot because there have been some odd occurrences that have taken place in that vicinity. Substance abusers have been seen hanging around that lot and the lot by the CVS store. Bay Street has a problem with loud, intoxicated people walking up and down the street at night. Glens Falls is definitely being besieged by substance abuse issues.
