QUEENSBURY -- A Queensbury man was jailed Tuesday night after he allegedly went into a female acquaintance's home and threatened her with a baseball bat, police said.

Daniel J. Santana, 26, was charged with felony counts of second-degree burglary and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon and misdemeanor counts of menacing and endangering the welfare of a child, according to State Police.

He allegedly went into a woman's home in Montcalm Apartments around 10:30 p.m. and threatened her with a bat, according to police. He fled the home and was arrested nearby on Aviation Road.

Santana was arraigned and sent to Warren County Jail for lack of bail.

Santana is on parole for a 2010 drug sale and grand larceny convictions in Warren County Court, for which he was sent to prison for 2-1/2 years.

Montcalm apartments have a problem with violent incidents. The police seem to make frequent arrests there. What criteria are the management using for the qualifications of the tenants? No criminal background checks done?
