QUEENSBURY -- A Johnsburg man has been charged with felony assault for allegedly biting a corrections officer in Warren County Jail, police said.

Jeffrey S. Swenson, 53, of Peaceful Valley Road was charged with second-degree assault after he allegedly bit an officer on the arm as officers entered his cell in the jail one night earlier this month. The officer was not seriously hurt.

Swenson was in jail on charges of resisting arrest and disorderly conduct, police said.

Swenson was arraigned and returned to Warren County Jail for lack of bail.

Sheriff's Patrol Officer Greg Dunn and Investigator Russ Lail handled the case.

I feel sorry for the corrections officers that have to deal with the inmates of the Warren County Jail. The inmates seem to be getting more difficult to contain recently.
