HARTFORD -- A Fort Ann man was charged with felony criminal mischief Wednesday for allegedly causing more than $1,000 in damage to a female acquaintance's vehicle by punching it numerous times, police said.

Tyler M. West, 19, was arrested this week in connection with an incident in the town of Hartford that was reported to State Police on Aug. 22, according to the State Police public information website.

Police said he damaged the car during a confrontation with a woman with whom he had a romantic relationship, repeatedly punching it and leaving the area before troopers arrived.

West was arraigned and sent to Washington County Jail for lack of bail.
