LAKE GEORGE -- A Lake George man was jailed Friday in connection with a hit-and-run accident that occurred Tuesday in Lake George, police records show.

No injuries were reported in the 7:38 p.m. accident, according to State Police.

Troopers linked Scott F. Ball, 54, to the crash and determined he did not have permission to drive the vehicle he was driving, the State Police public information website showed.

He was charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, a felony, and misdemeanor criminal mischief, the website showed.

Ball was arraigned and sent to Warren County Jail for lack of bail.

It is important to lock your car doors and take the key with you when you are not using it. In this case it is fortunate that no injuries occurred in the crash, but the car owner has sustained a loss if they do not have good insurance coverage.
