Carolyn Favor Kibbe 'Portraits in Oils' at Crandall Library
GLENS FALLS — “Portraits in Oils” by Cambridge artist Carolyn Favor Kibbe will be on display in the Friends of Crandall Public Library Second-Floor Art Gallery, 251 Glen St., through the month of February. The library is open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday.
The portraits include images of local friends and family of the artist as well as pictures of Mongolian men, women and camels painted after her trip to Mongolia a few years ago. Kibbe has worked as a public school teacher, newspaper reporter, editor and editorial cartoonist. She holds degrees from UC Berkeley, Rhode Island College and Boston University. She is a member of the Valley Artisans Market and the Beekman Street Artists. Her work has been shown at LARAC, the Long Island Art Association, Cooperstown National and the Salmagundi Club.
