QUEENSBURY — Natale Grillo, 95, passed away on Monday, Feb. 5, 2018 at the Granville Center in Granville, with his family at his side.
He was born on July 24, 1922 in Brooklyn, the son of the late Pasquale and Francesca (Ruvola) Grillo.
While living in Brooklyn, he was actively involved in the Holy Name Society of Our Lady of Grace Church. When they moved to Queensbury, he also became very involved with the Church of the King on Bay Road. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and a General Chairman of the Boy Scout Troop 376.
After he moved to Poultney, Vermont, he served for two years each as Vice President and President of the Young at Heart Senior Center. He was a member of Italian American Society in Queensbury, a Committeeman with the Republican Club and a member of the Elks. He also was a member of Sons of Italy.
Natale also served as Vice President of Potpourri Civic Association and the Republicans for Good Government Organization.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife of 71 years, Carmela DeMarco Grillo; his brothers, John and Pasquale Grillo; and his sisters, Mary Esposito, Rose Agavino, Prudence Cacciola, Bette Della Pietra and Giovanna DeMarco.
He is survived by his sons, Patrick Grillo of Tampa, Florida, Pastor Louis Grillo of Las Vegas, Nevada and John (Sandra) Grillo of Brooklyn; his daughter, Natalie (Joseph) Mondella of Queensbury; his grandchildren, Dominique (Larry) Lerbakken of Queensbury, Natalie Grillo, Jessica Grillo, Rebecca Grillo, Eli Grillo, Noah Grillo, Joseph (Dana) Mondella, Christopher (Monica) Mondella, Matthew (Alexis) Mondella, Stephanie (Jonathan) Dillon, Tiffany Xavier and Priscilla Grillo; his great-grandchildren, Kristin Roberts, Natalie Lerbakken, Christopher, Olivia and Charles Mondella, Matthew and Amelia Mondella, John Dillon, Damien, Kaleb and Aubrey Reider and Zachary Grillo; along with several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services and burial will be held privately for the family.

The family wishes to express their gratitude to Natale and Carmela’s caregiver, Sue Simione, for all her care and compassion given them over the years. She was a valuable part of their later years that allowed them to stay in their own home and provide a meaningful friendship.
