SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. - Kathleen Marietta Lindsey died, after a brief illness, at UCSF Hospital in San Francisco, Calif., on Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2011.
Born on Dec. 14, 1963, Kathy grew up in North Creek, N.Y., and was a graduate of Johnsburg Central School and Syracuse University.
Kathy had a very rewarding career at Oracle Corp. for 23 years and had recently accepted a new position with Service Source where she was made vice president of client delivery.
Kathy was predeceased by her father, George Lindsey in 2005.
She is survived by mother, Gloria of West Palm Beach, Fla., a sister, Michelle Wallace and her husband, Greg and children, Ashley, Zack, Brian and Paige of Darlington, Pa.
She is also survived by maternal aunt, Gayle and uncle, Jerry Blanchard of Rexford, N.Y., cousins, Natalie and Nicole; maternal uncle, Gary Vanderwarker (wife Stella) of Pottersville, N.Y., and cousins, Reese, Stephanie and Rodney; and maternal aunt, Hilda Vanderwarker (wife of Leon Vanderwarker Deceased) of Pottersville, N.Y., with children, Robin, Randy, Crystal and Corey, also cousin, Shelli Everts (Mary Lou Vanderwarker).
Family on the paternal side include; James Barrett and John Barrett with wife, Mary Ann and cousins, Melissa and Brian of Pittsburgh, Pa.
Kathy loved to travel and did so extensively for business and pleasure. She visited many countries including England, France, China, Bali, South America, Canada, Australia and Africa along with most North American states.
She had an extensive array of friends spanning from childhood to the present day, many of who supported her in her brief illness. There were more than 7,000 hits on the Caring Bridge website that was set up to keep people informed of her progress. The outpouring of love and support meant so much to her and her family and was a testament to her as a person.
It is impossible to write in a brief composition the impact that she had on the people around her. She was joy and light and all that knew her will mourn her passing forever.
There will be a memorial service for Kathy in her hometown of North Creek, N.Y., on Saturday, May 21, at St. James Catholic Church at 11 a.m. The church is located on Main Street, North Creek, N.Y.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Breast Cancer Emergency Fund (BCEF), 12 Grace St. Suite 300, San Francisco, CA 94103, under Kathleen Lindsey. This organization helps women with limited finances to get medical care.
