GRANVILLE — James E. Terrio, passed away suddenly on December 1, 2017 at home.
Jimmy was born in Glens Falls, on Oct. 21, 1931, the son of the late Elmer and Regine (Lemery) Terrio.
He was a hardworking husband, father and grandfather. He retired after more than 30 years of employment at General Electric in Fort Edward. Never one to be idle, upon retirement, Jimmy took a position with the U.S. Postal Service, working in the Middle Granville and Granville Post Office and other jobs within the postal system on a substitute basis.
Jimmy was a proud Korean Army veteran. He was a member of the VFW and a lifelong member of the Knights of Columbus, in which he served as Grand Knight.
Jim was a member of St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church in Granville, where he served as an usher and care taker for many years.
Jim was always proud of his lawn and gardens, taking great care to keep them just so.
In addition to his parents, Jimmy was predeceased by a brother, John and three sisters, Lucille, Dorothy and Norma.
He is survived by his wife, Rosalia (Russo) Terrio; a son, James (Kathy); and a daughter, Christina Young (Robert). He was blessed with three grandsons, Marcus, Evan and Jacob Young; two granddaughters, Bria and Trisha Terrio; and one great-granddaughter, Hailey Hanser. He is also survived by his in-laws, Michael and Marcia Russo and their four sons, of Pawlet; as well as nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. He will be laid to rest in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Middle Granville.
