May 27, 1926 — December 30, 2017 CLEVERDALE — Esther Henderson Frederick died peacefully in her sleep on Dec. 30, 2017 at the Stanton Nursing Home. She was born on May 27, 1926 to the late Scott M. and Letitia (Cook) Henderson.
She graduated from Glens Falls High School in 1944, where she was 5th in her class. She went on to graduate from Middlebury College in 1948.
Esther grew up on Cleverdale, Lake George, where her father started a marina in 1906 and lived there until the time of her passing. She worked at Suttons Market in the gift shop for several years and often volunteered at West Mount. Esther loved to play bridge and had a special place in her heart for her “play day” friends. She was a longtime active member of the Harrisena Community Church. Her great passion and delight was living on the lake, and she was known to swim daily until the age of 88.
She is survived by three children, Holly Bouchard of Newburyport, Massachusetts, Peter Frederick of Glens Falls and Amy and her husband, Dan Feeney of Burlington, Vermont; and daughter-in-law, Barbara Frederick of Hartford, Connecticut. She has ten grandchildren, Megan Bouchard, David, Maureen, Carrie and Michael Frederick, Daniel and Brian Frederick and Emma, Madison and Abigail Feeney; and one great-grandchild, Abby Bourdin. She will be missed by all.
She is predeceased by her former husband, Stanley A. Frederick; her son, David Scott Frederick; and her brother, William Henderson.
Calling hours will be held from 4 to 5 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 4, at Singleton Sullivan Potter Funeral Home, 407 Bay Road, Queensbury, with a funeral service to immediately follow at 5 p.m. at the funeral home.
