February 17, 1925 — November 26, 2017 SARATOGA SPRINGS — Dr. Robert Wesley Homer passed away peacefully, on Sunday Nov. 26, 2017 in the presence of his family at the Wesley Community in Saratoga Springs, New York. Born on Feb. 17, 1925 in Camden, New Jersey. Robert was the second son of George and Kitty Homer. He proudly served in the Navy as a frogman in WW11. Robert graduated from both Gettysburg College and Jefferson Medical College. He completed his internship at the Glens Falls Hospital. Robert dedicated his life to Family Practice in Hudson Falls, and Emergency Medicine at the Glens Falls Hospital. Dr. Homer was an excellent physician and was well respected in the medical community. He often provided care at no charge to those in need, did house calls and was always kind and compassionate — his patients loved him! In his leisure time he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He loved to shoot pool, ski, scuba dive, play tennis, golf, landscape and do woodworking. Also he was a very talented artist, painting several beautiful pictures. He enjoyed much of his retirement in Boynton Beach, Florida.
Robert was predeceased by his beloved wife, Rosalie; his parents; and his son, Jeffrey.
Robert is survived by his children, John, Peter, Mathew, Anne, Susan, Claudia, Don, Carolyn, Christine and Margaret. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Nathaniel, Zeke, Zoe, Jack, Will, Maggie, Zack, Simon, Max, Sam, Allie, Nick, Ryan, Lauren and Gianna; his brother, George; and several nieces and nephews.
Dr. Robert Wesley Homer was and will always be remembered as “The Good Man”. A private celebration of life will be held at a later date. In honor of Dr. Robert Homer, please consider a donation to the Wesley Foundation of Saratoga Springs.
