March 12, 1949 — March 7, 2018
NEWTOWN, Penn. — On March 7, 2018 the world lost a wonderful man, Dennis John Buckley, 68, of Newtown, Pennsylvania, formerly of Glens Falls. He passed away at his home, after a long battle with cancer that he handled with dignity.
Dennis was born in Glens Falls on March 12, 1949 to Madelyn Joiner and Rollin Buckley. His family moved, returning to Glens Falls in 1966. He graduated from Glens Falls High School in 1967.
On Jan. 8, 1972, Dennis married the love of his life, Sharon Reeves (the girl next door) at St. Mary’s Church in Glens Falls.
Dennis attended Murray State University, where he received his MBA in 1973. He was hired by Bristol Myers Pharmaceuticals, moving with his family seven times before settling in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. He finished out his career after 34 years as the Eastern Regional Business Director of Oncology for Bristol Myers Squibb.
Dennis was predeceased by his parents and one brother, Terrance.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Sharon; two daughters, Meghan Allshouse (Todd) and Allyson Smith (Jeff); his four beloved grandchildren, Ayden, Kinsley, Madelyn and Emma; and sisters, Diane Brown and Joan Buckley.
Dennis was a devoted husband, father and grandfather, who loved being involved with all of their sports and activities. He loved spending time at his house and boat on Lake George. He was an avid golfer, even getting a ‘hole in one’ at Queensbury Country Club. He loved watching his Yankees, reading, cooking, but most of all, his first love was being with his family. He will be remembered for his ready smile, positive attitude, strength of character and his ability to make others feel good about themselves.
A private burial and a life celebration will be in Glens Falls on a later date.
