DAYTONA, Fla., and LAKE GEORGE -- Christopher Converse, 58, passed away Sunday, March 9, 2014, in Daytona, Fla., as a result of a motorcycle accident.

Christopher was a lifelong resident of Lake George and enjoyed winters after his retirement in Daytona, Fla.

Christopher was a Warrensburg Central School graduate, class of 1973. He was employed with New York State Department of Corrections for 25 years before retiring as sergeant from Mount McGregor in 2006.

Throughout his life, he enjoyed riding motorcycles, traveling with his partner in life, Connie Cavanagh. He is remembered for spending time with friends and family, as well as providing a helping hand whenever needed.

Christopher was predeceased by his parents, Ernest and Eleanor Converse; three sisters; Ernestine Cheney, Sandra Stone and Julia Wood; and his nephew, Gary Ostrander; and niece, Beth Converse.

He is survived by Connie Cavanagh; three brothers, David McNeil of Lake George, and Donald Converse and Patrick Converse, both of Warrensburg; as well as his sister, Betty Engle of Warrensburg.

A celebration of life will be held from 3 to 5:55 p.m. Sunday, March 23, 2014, at Ashes Hotel in Warrensburg.

Thoughts of condolences can be expressed by a donation to Hole in the Woods Ranch or Operation Santa Claus.

The family would like to thank Slugger, Butchie, John and Larry for their extra support during this difficult time.

    Chris had a heart of gold and was always willing to help anyone no questions asked. He will be missed. God bless him and his family in there difficult time.
