Restaurant owner Deric Buck was working the front of the booth for his new restaurant, which is at the Kingsbury National Golf Club, and for Bogey’s, which he also owns and is at Bay Meadows GC. He is also opening a third restaurant, Buck’s Tavern, on Route 9 in Queensbury.
Bogey’s has been at the event before, but Fire Rock, under chef Aaron Newell, has not.
Newell was serving a mini burrata (cheese) bombs, a shrimp dish known as camerones verde and belly bites, which were pork belly slices in a sweet and spicy sauce.
“What we’re doing here is different,” Newell said. “It’s a take on comfort food. You have mozzarella sticks, we have the burrata bites. You serve bacon, we got with the pork belly.”
