QUEENSBURY — A new store is bringing a splash of color to the Million Dollar Half-Mile.
Vera Bradley will open an outlet store at the Outlets at Lake George on March 30.
That weekend, the store will offer sales and special offers for its grand opening.
It’s all part of the way the company does business. It describes itself as a “lifestyle brand” that “encourages self-expression through playful patterns, sophisticated solids and extraordinary accessories.”
In other words: it sells purses, blankets, clothing and other items with designs you won’t find anywhere else.
The brand is primarily known for brightly colored, quilt-like patterns. But store officials emphasized that they also sell full-grain leather and water-repellent polyester twill.
Workers have been remodeling the 3,024-square-foot store all winter. It’s next to the Levi’s Outlet Store. Officials are still hiring — they have been hiring sales associates and workers for the stockroom, but are still looking for at least one team leader.
The store will offer up to 65 percent off retail prices.
“We are proud to present our exclusive patterns and styles and are excited we’ll bring a bit of color to Lake George,” said Melissa Latham, Vera Bradley Outlet vice president of retail stores. She added that she hopes the location will bring the brand a new audience.
“We look forward to connecting with our Vera Bradley fans and creating new ones,” she said.
The owner of the outlet plaza said that customers wanted Vera Bradley and he was delighted to deliver.
“We’re dedicated to offering shoppers convenient access to the brand names they desire most,” said Sobert Realty Corp. President Corey Shanus. “We expect Vera Bradley Outlet will enjoy a stellar grand opening and tremendous success as it begins to serve the Lake George region.”
