I had no idea where Glens Falls was when I saw a tweet about a job opening, five years and one month ago. I applied late in the game but managed to get an interview, and then a job.
I’m very glad I happened upon that tweet.
Today is my last day of work at The Post-Star. It’s a very weird feeling to clear out my desk and walk out the door. I’ve never resigned from a job before. I'm heading to Knoxville, where I will cover high school sports for USA TODAY NETWORK - Tennessee.
Before I log off, I want to say thank you. Thank you to all of you who read my work. I put a lot into the three teams in two leagues I covered over five seasons here, not to mention all of the high school sports, so thank you for reading it.
I’ve learned a lot while working in this small town nestled into the foothills of the Adirondacks. And, though the ocean will always be my favorite, I’ve gained an appreciation for mountains and lakes.
I’ll be back in the area from time to time (my boyfriend still wants me to climb a high peak) and Glens Falls will always have a place in my heart.
Thank you for taking this journey with me.
