The retirement of long-time reporter Maury Thompson back in September has led to changes throughout the newsroom.
Thompson, who was covering the city of Glens Falls and politics when he retired, had worn many hats over the years while walking his beat in Glens Falls.
In the months before he retired, he had been covering the town of Queensbury as well. Kathleen Moore took over that beat last year.
Michael Goot, who had been covering education for many years, has taken over the city of Glens Falls. His byline should already be familiar to city residents after covering the recent election.
And Kathleen Phalen-Tomaselli, who has been writing for the Arts/Life section is now taking over politics.
Bill Toscano, who had been covering some Washington County towns and just about anything else we needed covering, had just started on the education beat this past month. Unfortunately, Bill was hospitalized over the weekend. We’re hoping he will be back soon.
