Kevin Geraghty, the supervisor in Warrensburg and a past chairman of the county Board of Supervisors, is hopeful that the changes in the leadership structure for the Warren County Republican Committee will lead to positive change.
Geraghty called for the resignation of longtime Warren County chairman Michael Grasso earlier this year over his involvement in some unethical political maneuvers prior to the election in Queensbury.
Grasso retained his position as chairman last week, but an executive committee will be appointed to help Grasso with some of the leadership duties.
“If I am to believe Mike, things should improve,” Geraghty wrote in an email. “He is going to use an executive committee to look at the bylaws and include the executive committee more.”
Geraghty wrote that he believes having Ron Conover, the current chairman of the Warren County Board of Supervisors, as vice-chairman of the Warren County Republicans will also help.
“For me personally it will be wait and see,” Geraghty wrote.
He went on to write there are a lot of people on the committee who believe things need to be done differently.
I hope so, but I will also wait and see.
