Well, by now everyone should know that the finals of the Section II Softball Tournament have been postponed from today (Friday) to Saturday, but keeping with the same schedule. The opening ceremonies -- where the Section II all-stars for each class are presented -- are set for 4 p.m., followed by warmups, and then the games at 5 p.m.

Here is the preview for the Class C and D finals involving Glens Falls-area teams.

And the complete schedule of games, now set for Saturday:

At Moreau Rec:

Class C -- Lake George (17-2) vs. Greenville (15-4) -- the seedings did not hold up in this class: Lake George is the fifth seed, Greenville is the sixth seed. The Spartans are also the defending Section II champs, and knocked off Lake George in last year's semifinals. The Warriors on are on a 14-game winning streak, including their surprising 6-0 shutout of No. 1-seeded Greenwich in the semis. Lake George sophomore Rebecca Jaeger is coming off a two-hitter with six strikeouts and one walk on Wednesday against Greenwich. She squares off against Greenville pitcher Amy Fitzmaurice, who beat the Warriors last year.

Class D -- Salem (18-0) vs. Fort Ann (14-2) -- truly a clash of titans here, and a rematch of an April 12 game that was won by Salem 6-5 in 8 innings. Salem has been ranked No. 3 in the state most of the season, while Fort Ann is ranked seventh. The Generals have made a great turnaround -- from 4-10 in 2014, to 12-6 in 2015 (with their first sectional playoff win since 1993), then 14-6 last season. Fort Ann is pursuing its seventh straight Section II title -- that would match the Cardinals' Class D championship streak from 1984-90. The Cards also won six in a row from 2002-07. Fort Ann's Kayla Bailey fired a no-hitter against Hartford in Wednesday's semifinals, while Salem used its bats and took advantage of six Fort Plain errors for a 12-3 win. The Generals have two solid pitchers in Morgan Keys and Kyndra Riche.

At Luther Forest Athletic Fields, Malta:

Class AA -- Shaker vs. Ballston Spa -- Ballston Spa is the defending Section II champion and reached the state final four last year.

Class A -- Averill Park vs. Burnt Hills -- Both Averill Park and Burnt Hills were middle-of-the-pack Suburban Council teams, but they play against Class AA teams all season before dropping down to Class A for sectionals. Averill Park pulled out a 5-3 victory over South Glens Falls in 10 innings in Wednesday's semifinals.

Class B -- Cohoes vs. Ichabod Crane -- Ichabod Crane still has Marist-bound pitcher Calista Phippen, one of the section's best hurlers who led the Riders to a state championship two years ago. She squares off with Cohoes ace Isabelle DeChiaro in what should be a classic.
