Memo to self: Taking the week off after state championships seems like a good idea until all the offers start pouring in for Joseph Girard III.

The 6-foot-1 point guard from Glens Falls in the last two days has received scholarship offers from St. John's (Big East), Marist (MAAC), Brigham Young University (West Coast Conference) and University of Washington (Pac-12).

The CBS MaxPreps Boys Basketball Sophomore All-American averaged a Section II-best 36.4 points per game this season and was named to the first team of the New York State Sportswriters All-State Basketball Team.

Girard has scored 2,157 points over his three-year career and is on pace to perhaps become New York State's all-time leading scorer before his junior season.

Girard has received offers from High Point, Albany, George Washington, Siena, Penn State, Tulane, Vermont, St. John's, Marist, Brigham Young and Washington.
