A new bull's eye recycling bin placed under the chair lift at West Mountain is designed to cut down on trash that's been littering the snow-covered mountain.
The new recycling bin, sponsored by Glens Falls Hospital, is now in place beneath the chairlift at pole 15.
Signage on lift poles leading up to the large blue, red and yellow painted target asks guests to save any recycling that may have made its way onto the lift and drop it into the colorful bin just before skiers and riders unload.
Cash collected from bottle and can deposits will go to the Double H Ranch in Lake Luzerne to benefit its adaptive ski program.
“Glens Falls Hospital is excited to be a sponsor of this unique initiative," said Katelyn Cinzio, director of marketing and communications for Glens Falls Hospital. "It’s a great way to collaborate with our community partners to help keep the mountain clean and free of obstacles as well as give back to the Double H Ranch."
