UPDATED: Class C North with late Holy Trinity result from Friday.

OK, with Friday the 13th out of the way -- and a whole bunch of Section II football games -- we can start to see the sectional playoff picture come into focus for Classes AA, B and C.

Classes A and D still have one week left in their regular seasons.

There may be a couple of divisions with three-way ties that will have to be sorted by quarter points, but I have those figured out, I believe.

Here goes, based on Friday night's results:

CLASS AA Empire -- Top four: 1. Saratoga (6-0, 7-0); 2. Shenendehowa (5-1, 6-1); 3. Guilderland (4-2, 4-3); 4. CBA (3-3, 3-4).

CLASS AA Liberty -- Top four: 1. Troy (6-0, 7-0); 2. Shaker (5-1, 6-1); 3. Colonie (4-2, 5-2); 4. Bethlehem (2-3, 3-3) -- Bethlehem faces winless Schenectady on Saturday, but the Eagles beat Columbia (2-4, 2-5) head-to-head.

Class AA quarterfinal matchups -- Bethlehem at Saratoga, Colonie at Shen, Guilderland at Shaker, CBA at Troy.

CLASS B North -- Top four: 1. Glens Falls (3-0, 6-0 -- pending the outcome of Saturday's Jug Game at Hudson Falls); 2. Schuylerville (3-1, 6-1); 3. Hudson Falls (2-1, 4-2 -- see Glens Falls above); 4. Broadalbin-Perth (1-3, 3-4). Current Class B North quarter points: Glens Falls 20.5 (1 game left), Schuylerville 20.5 (complete), Hudson Falls 11 (1 game left). With a maximum of only 7 quarter points available, Hudson Falls would not have enough points to overcome the advantage Glens Falls and Schuylerville have in the event of a Hudson Falls win and 3-way tie.

CLASS B Reinfurt -- Top four (with quarter points): 1. Schalmont (4-1, 4-3 -- 29 quarter points); 2. Hudson (4-1, 4-3 -- 28 quarter points); 3. Cobleskill (4-1, 6-1 -- 27 quarter points); 4. Ravena (2-3, 3-4). NOTE: With Schalmont, Hudson and Cobleskill finishing in a three-way tie, the team with the fewest quarter points -- Cobleskill -- is eliminated from the tie and we revert to head-to-head between Schalmont and Hudson. Schalmont beat Hudson 28-7 on Friday night.

The probable Class B quarterfinal matchups would be: Ravena at Glens Falls, Cobleskill at Schuylerville, Hudson Falls at Hudson, B-P at Schalmont.

CLASS C North -- Top four (with quarter points): 1. Holy Trinity (5-1, 6-1 -- 34.5 quarter points); 2. Stillwater (5-1, 6-1 -- 32 quarter points); 3. Mechanicville (5-1, 6-1 -- 30.5 quarter points); 4. Hoosick Falls (3-3, 4-3). NOTE: In the three-way tie between Holy Trinity, Stillwater and Mechanicville, Mechanicville has the fewest quarter points at 30.5, so the Red Raiders are eliminated from the tie and seeded third. Holy Trinity beat Stillwater 49-6 head-to-head, so the Pride are the top seed, Stillwater second.

CLASS C South -- Top four: 1. Watervliet (5-1, 6-1); 2. Chatham (5-1, 5-2); 3. Tamarac (4-2, 4-3); 4. Voorheesville (4-2, 5-2). With Chatham defeating Voorheesville 28-6 on Friday night, we're all sorted out in Class C South. Watervliet owns the head-to-head over Chatham, while Tamarac beat Voorheesville in Week 2.

Probable Class C quarterfinal matchups: Voorheesville at Holy Trinity, Tamarac at Stillwater, Mechanicville at Chatham, Hoosick Falls at Watervliet.

Lookahead for Class A and D:

CLASS A -- Top four right now: 1. Burnt Hills (7-0, 7-0); 2. Averill Park (5-1, 6-1); 3. Queensbury (4-2, 4-3); 4. winner of Oct. 20 game between South Glens Falls (3-3, 4-3) and Amsterdam (3-3, 4-3). NOTE: With Queensbury's 41-7 win over South High on Friday night, the Amsterdam at South Glens Falls game on Oct. 20 is a play-in game, with the winner getting the fourth seed for the Class A semifinals (and the unenviable trip to Burnt Hills the following week). This is of course assuming that the top three take care of business and defeat lesser foes next week.

CLASS D-1 -- Greenwich (3-0, 7-0) and Cambridge (1-1, 5-1) are already 1 and 2, as Cambridge would be heavily favored against Granville (0-2, 2-5) next week.

CLASS D-2 -- Warrensburg (3-0, 5-1) and Hoosic Valley (2-0, 3-3) battle at Warrensburg on Saturday, with the Burghers having the chance to clinch the division title and top seed with a win. Hoosic Valley needs wins over Warrensburg and Canajoharie (2-1, 6-1) this week and next to take the top spot. Canajoharie can lock in the No. 2 spot with a win over Valley on Oct. 20.
