Route 149 clearing

The clearing for a new truck stop on Route 149 in Queensbury took shape in recent days.

The corner of Ridge Road and Route 149 seems to be the next boom corridor in Queensbury.

The clearing for the new truck stop, at the site of the former Getty station, is huge, much bigger than I thought when I read about plans there. The new Stewart's Shop across Ridge Road went up in a matter of weeks.

The big question will be what happens with the empty lot across Route 149 from Stewart's. It appears to have had some surveying done on it recently, with new markers put in place.

I would be surprised if we don't see a business pop up there in the coming years.

The area of Corinth Road near Exit 18 exploded with development in recent years, and now it seems that developers see the busy intersection on the crossroads to Vermont and Lake George as a hot spot.

The former Harrisena Diner is vacant again, but Adirondack Bar & Grill has a strong following, and the Streaking Moose BBQ to the east of the intersection on Route 149 seemed to have a strong end of summer as it opened in a formerly dormant location.
