Assemblywoman Carrie Woerner, D-Round Lake, was not happy with Gov. Andrew Cuomo's move to extend last year's state budget.
Her official statement follows:
“I am discouraged and frustrated that our state government could not reach an agreement before the FY 2017-2018 state budget deadline. After a 30-year career in the private sector, I know that such a lack of action would never be tolerated in other industries. I will be voting for a budget extender because I refuse to place local people’s jobs at risk by shutting down the state government, and I remain committed to working cooperatively with my colleagues on both sides of the aisle to pass a budget for the new fiscal year that protects our public schools, hospitals, small businesses, farms, and local governments.”
