They called him Billy Zinn, and for folks in Granville, he was the patriarch of a family that is always there to help.
Zinn, 78, died last week, and his funeral was Wednesday.
Zinn, an Eagle Scout himself, become a scoutmaster, and all three of his sons, Paul, Michael and Tim, were also Eagle Scouts and EMS members. He leaves his wife of 41 years, Judy, and two grandchildren.
He was a member of the Rupert Fire Department and a selectman and a member of the Masons in that town. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War.
He was one of those people you find in every town, who puts his neighbors above himself and teaches his family to do the same.
Ask folks who knew him. He will be missed.
