My friend Craig Shupee, who shares my hobby of Medieval re-creation, advocates every week for a #wordfamewednesday, when we all write about people who impress us for various reasons.
Since I do not blog as much as I should, I thought this would be a good idea to do here. The basic point is to pick a person who is doing good things or who is impressive in one way or another.
Gretchen Stark gets to be the first person. Yes, she’s a Town Board member in Fort Ann, but what’s impressive is what she does for the youth of the community. That’s not surprising since she’s a former coach, but she’s working hard to provide recreational activities for children and adults, through a variety of ways, including planning a bike path and a kayak launch. The most recent thing was the fishing derby on Hadlock Pond, which is a big draw and a lot of fun for everyone involved.
