A day indoors at one of the Northeast's fine outdoors shows is a good way to end the winter blahs for a bit.
Locally, the annual Adirondack Outdoors Show has been scheduled for Feb. 10 and 11 at the Johnstown Moose Club in Johnstown. Promoter Mike Hauser always puts together a fine event focusing on hunting, fishing, archery, trapping, boating and other outdoor pursuits, with plenty of vendors and informative speakers.

If you don't mind travelling a bit, there are some bigger shows within a few hours drive of our region.
If you don't mind a longer drive, the annual Yankee Sportsman Classic will be held in the Burlington, Vt. area Jan. 19-21, while the Springfield, Massachusetts Sportsmen's Show will be held Feb. 23-25. The Massachusetts show bills itself as the Northeast's "strongest" show, for whatever that is worth.
A little further down the road is the annual show downstate billed as the "World Fishing and Outdoor Exposition," which will be held March 1-4 in Suffern, Rockland County. I used to go to that show every year and it was always a good time, though I haven't in a few.
