I was stopped on the Cooper's Cave Bridge Tuesday morning when a piece of new signage grabbed my attention.

The sign is approximately, 4 feet tall and 2 feet wide.

It is decked out in Glens Falls Indians colors with a red and black border, Glens Falls Indians in black with a red shadow and the "GF" arrowhead logo between the school name.

Glens Falls Indians

A sign reflecting NYSPHSAA and Federation titles the Glens Falls Indians have won is seen Tuesday near Cool Insuring Arena in Glens Falls.

Below lists the NYSPHSAA and Federation Champions teams for Glens Falls. On a white background the teams include the 1990, 1991 ice hockey teams, 2000, 2001 field hockey teams, 2016 football and 1977 cross country.

Across the bottom has "Home of Champions" in red block letters and plenty of more space for future champions.

This was the first makeover since the field hockey team won back to back state titles in 2000 and 2001, according to Glens Falls Athletic Director Chip Corlew.

Corlew said the school provides the list of teams and their accomplishments and the sign was provided by the city of Glens Falls.

Corlew said Glens Falls Fourth Ward Councilman Scott Endieveri was "huge" in having the signs upgraded from the former green signs at the border of the city.

The sign was recently upgraded to reflect the 2016 football championship and the 1977 cross country Federation Champions.

Take a trip down memory lane and read clips from the state championships.
