The life and career of Glens Falls native and NHL Hall of Fame announcer Dave Strader was honored Wednesday night during the first intermission of NBC Sports Network's broadcast of the Pittsburgh Penguins and St. Louis Blues. 

Strader died on Sunday at the age of 62 after a battle with bile duct cancer.

Play-by-play announcer Mike Emrick, who narrated the piece, was visibility choked up introducing the video segment that was about to show to viewers.

Calling hours for Strader will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Heritage Hall in Cool Insuring Arena.

Funeral services are scheduled for noon Friday at First Presbyterian Church in Glens Falls.
