Last week the final traces of Glens Falls Civic Center were removed from the exterior walls of the arena.

Signworks Signs of Queensbury installed the new Cool Insuring Arena signs in its place just in time for the preseason opener on Friday night.

Cool Insuring Arena staff lit the sign up for the first time on Friday and the color display continued through the night.

According to Signworks Project Coordinator Kelly Eustis, the signs measure 7 feet tall by 20 feet, 8 inches wide.

The "COOL" lettering is 5 feet tall and "Insuring Arena" are 18 inches tall made of aluminium, which matches the previous footprint of the Glens Falls Civic Center signage.

Eustis said lighting of the sign is still in the works by BMI Supply, Inc. and Signworks Signs is in charge of the smaller lettering with white LEDs.

The signs will feature multiple color combinations and is expected to be used to highlight various events.
