Nine New York colleges ranked in the top 100 nationally of Buffalo Business First’s ranking of public colleges.
The highest ranked was Binghamton University at 17th. This was followed by Stony Brook University at 24th; the University at Buffalo at 26th; Baruch College at 39th; SUNY Geneseo at 52nd.
Also in the top 100 were the University at Albany at 53rd; SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry at 67th; SUNY New Paltz at 77th; Queens College at 94th and the City College of New York ranked 100th.
The business magazine and website ranked the schools using a 22-part formula with criteria such as the selectivity of admission, retention and graduation rates, earnings of alumni, affordability, financial resources, housing costs, diversity of faculty and student bodies and the economy of the area of the college, according to a news release.
Ranking first in the country was the University of Michigan.
