Seth McEachron, 28, is owner of Battenkill Valley Creamery in Salem, and was nominated by Yvonne Steiert for his extraordinary products and emphasis on the local farming community.
McEachron opened his creamery in 2008, and now distributes his products to over 100 local businesses. His products are also sold through a wholesaler to over 80 local businesses in the New York City area. Battenkill Creamery won the prestigious award of #1 Highest Quality Milk in New York State from Cornell University's Department of Food Science.
Battenkill Creamery has diversified several times since it's opening, offering the farm's milk in plastic and glass bottles, as well as their own homemade hard ice cream. The most recent addition began in May, when McEachron launched a home delivery service to the Saratoga Springs area, delivering his milk in addition to other farm's products.
"Seth has a positive impact on the community on a daily basis. His business provides local, fresh dairy products to people in the community," Steiert said. "His strong and honest personality, as well as his dedication to providing top quality products, on top of his work ethic makes him a role model for anyone, young or old."
